Mercure launches rainforest experience in Cairns

The Mercure Cairns Harbourside has teamed with Skyrail Rainforest Cableway to offer a new Rainforest Experience package, epitomising Australia’s tropical north.

Mercure Cairns image008 The new package is priced from AU$208 a person and includes two-night accommodation at the Mercure in Cairns and a full-day Skyrail package for two people to visit the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest.

The full-day tour combines two iconic experiences — the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and the Kuranda Scenic Railway — to create the original and the best-day tour experience.

Gliding just metres above the rainforest canopy in one of Skyrail’s comfortable, six-person, gondola cabins, Mercure guests can enjoy spectacular and uninterrupted views of the rainforest, tropical Cairns, the Coral Sea and the lush Cairns highlands.

After free time exploring Kuranda village, guests will return via Kuranda Scenic Railway, which is the original scenic rail journey to Kuranda.

This spectacular experience travels over bridges and through tunnels hand-made by North Queensland’s pioneers more 120 years ago.

Transfers between Mercure Cairns Harbourside and the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and Kuranda Scenic Railway are included in the package which is valid for bookings and stays between now and March 31 next year.
