Melbourne Storm signs Tigerair as official airline partner

Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club has signed a two-year deal with Tigerair, with the low-cost airline to become the club’s official airline partner.

Storm and Tigerair first partnered for the final rounds of the 2013 season with the deal now increased to include the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

The Tigerair logo will appear on the lower back position of the Storm jersey. The partnership will also deliver a wide range of marketing opportunities designed to bring Tigerair closer to Storm’s fan base.

Melbourne Storm commercial director Ben Dunn says:

“We are delighted to have Tigerair on board as the official airline partner of Melbourne Storm. The partnership allows Storm to deliver significant national exposure for the Tigerair brand, whilst engaging more directly with our fan base all over Australia,” Dunn said.
“Tigerair are committed to growing their already strong presence in Australia and through this partnership Melbourne Storm fans will also benefit. We are looking at some different game day activation ideas that will really engage the fans in a new way. It’s an exciting partnership.”

Tigerair commercial director, Carly Brear says:

“Tigerair is proud to call Victoria home and we’re thrilled to confirm our support as Official Airline for Melbourne’s NRL team for the upcoming 2014 and 2015 seasons. There are many mutually beneficial opportunities we can leverage from this exciting partnership with Melbourne Storm.

“We already fly to most of the destinations on the NRL calendar and we are about to embark on a significant phase of growth which will see more routes and new destinations launching over the next few years.

“Tigerair is committed to becoming the airline of choice for value fares in Australia and as we continue with our growth plan, we will enable more sports fans across the nation to be able to catch their favourite sports team in action more often, simply because they can,” she said.
